Corporate Day 2024

Our annual corporate day saw 24 teams of 3 involved this year. The morning was quite cold with a fresh breeze making things even colder. As the day progressed the clouds lifted, the wind dropped, and the increasing temperature saw jumpers and jackets being removed.

The players were treated to an egg and bacon roll prior to hit off followed by a superb lunch prepared by three of our kitchen staff – René, Gail and Mountain. Many positive comments were made about the quality of the dishes.

The course was in an excellent condition and many favourable comments were received from the golfers participating. The greens staff were acknowledged for their efforts in preparing a quality course.

The Pro Shop did a fantastic job as well preparing the scorecards and calculating the winners on the day. Thanks to our golf professional Greg Collins and Lloyd Herron for their diligence.

Finally, as many people are aware our club is based primarily on volunteer help and a big thank you to Liz Brown, Bib Moss, Loretta Green, Club Captain Phil Lyons and Chris Russell for helping out on the day. It was very much appreciated.

Congratulations to the overall winners “Has Bean Counters”- Steve Thomson, Graeme Thompson and Matt Feary.

Top Gun 2024

The 2024 Top Gun has been run and won. Sunday saw our 19 qualifiers take to the course on a cold and wet Sunday morning.

After numerous chip offs we were left with last years Top Gun, John Schott facing off against Scott Abbott on the 18th tee.

Unfortunately they couldn’t be separated so had to go back to the tee for a second time. This time around Scott holed out for birdie with a putt from about 18ft to win the title.

Congratulations Scott, 2024 Top Gun

The final round robin match of the Illawarra Masters Pennant.

Unfortunately the guys didn’t qualify for the final, going down 5 : 3 to Kiama on Sunday morning at Kiama.

There were wins to Ian Asbury, Jack Brand and  John McFarlane.

Bad luck to Pete Connor, Ross Rees, Geoffrey Dunn, Lee Maddinson and Gerard Day who all lost their matches.
