Having finished runners up in their section of the draw the guys were drawn against Mollymook who were the top team from the other half of the draw. Another trip up the freeway ensued with the match taking place at Wollongong. The team were very pleased that the match wasn’t here on the Shoalhaven as the weather was foul but Wollongong seemed to have fared much better.
In a very tight match the scores finished at 4 : 4. Bill Moss, Ian Asbury and Simon Keith had wins while Jack Brand and Mark Henning managed to square their games. Lee Maddinson, Will Ockenden and John McFarlane were all beaten in close games.
As a a result of the tie we had to have a play off. Simon was chosen for the job and he had to take on the Mollymook player that halved with Jack. On the play off hole a two putt par was good enough to get the job done and the guys go on to next weeks regional final.
Next Sunday the guys will travel to The Links Shell Cove to take on Wollongong after they beat Kiama 5.5 : 2.5. Tee off will be at 1100. Hopefully it will be a good day and plenty of members can go along to cheer the guys on.
